Lauren Grumbles

Founder & Owner

Lauren Grumbles Design was established in 2017, after more than a decade of professional experience under the tutelage of renowned Interior Designer, Margie Slovack. Lauren’s experience spans from residential home design and construction to custom furniture, lighting and textile design. With an approach towards design rooted in practicality and timeless aesthetics, she is known for her use of texture, scale and light to create interiors that evoke a calm and inviting environment. She has structured her design business to not only create and develop design concepts, but to implement them as well through close collaboration with other industry partners, builders and architects. Effective communication is key when undertaking a design project: from understanding budget and scope of work, to lifestyle needs and client preferences, Lauren prides herself on the relationship and trust developed between each client.

Lauren is an NCIDQ Certified member of the American Society of Interior Designers and holds a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from Baylor University.

Courtnie Kocurek

Design Associate

With over ten years of experience, Courtnie brings a creative, detail-oriented approach to every phase of the design process while supporting the development and implementation of all residential interior design projects. 

Courtnie assists in guiding projects from concept through execution, contributing to material and furnishing selections, technical drawings, and project coordination & installation. With an approach rooted in practicality and timeless aesthetics, she collaborates closely with Lauren, builders, and industry partners to create interiors that reflect each client’s lifestyle and needs. She values clear communication, strong organization, and thoughtful client relationships, helping to support a seamless and trusted design experience.

Courtnie holds a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from Stephen F. Austin State University.

Outside of the studio, Courtnie’s life centers around her family—time spent with her husband and three boys—and her active involvement in her church community, both of which shape her grounded and thoughtful approach to life and work. In her spare time she enjoys reading, crafting and spending quality time with friends.
